Loudoun School for Advanced Studies is a small 6th-12th grade private school in Ashburn, Virginia driven to engage and challenge students with real-world problems in a learning environment that promotes curiosity, self-reliance and citizenship. We specialize in learning at your own speed, exploring beyond the classroom, and keeping joy in learning - all in a culture that promotes civil discourse, intellectual engagement, and — above all— a sense of belonging. Our unique blend of passionate teachers who love to ignite interest with curious students who feel confident to be themselves creates a dynamic and fun place to be!
In our 6th-12th grade school among faculty & students, our goal is keeping levity in hard times while honoring & deepening relationships with each other: some examples? Autonomy given by leadership to know our students & plan around their interests, Jollification Thursdays bring all faculty & students together to compete in fun (messy?) games & challenges for an end of year prize party, yearly theme/focus is constructed in a huge recycled cardboard wall mural in our main piazza, made artwork everywhere, fun & learning led by all that surrounds the theme, surprise good coffee gifts from Director, recognizing birthdays via email, singing as a school & presents, a culture of jokes & puns & celebrations & surprises, going to trivia with other staff/faculty, Friday movie nights after school with dinner & discussion, Wacky Welcome Mondays - a new costume each week with coordinating music/acting greets faculty and students 8a-9a every Monday as they arrive at school - excitement for a Monday!
